Q
Which medical specialties do you cover?

A
Audio-Digest publishes programs in the following 15 specialties: Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Urology. Audio-Digest also publishes the following programs in collaboration with leading institutions: ACCEL (with the American College of Cardiology), Continuum Audio (with the American Academy of Neurology), DiabetesInsight (with the American Diabetes Association), and Journal Watch Audio General Medicine (with the Massachusetts Medical Society).

Q
Will I receive audio programs devoted to my specialty?

A
Each audio program contains presentations pertaining to your specific specialty. Moreover, each audio program covers a current topic of significant value to your practice. In one cohesive program, you'll receive edited content from one or more talks from recent meetings, assuring an up-to-date review of the specific topic.

Q
Can Audio-Digest replace my need to attend meetings?

A
Most physicians like to attend specific medical meetings and conferences. Audio-Digest gives you access to the key presentations that you couldn't see and lectures from other meetings you could not attend. We cover over 450 major medical meetings, seminars and postgraduate courses a year, and bring you the most informative presentations on the timeliest topics from those meetings.

Q
How do you choose the meetings to record?

A
Meetings (medical seminars, university short courses, conferences and symposia) are evaluated based on the expertise of the speakers and relevance of the subject matter (current, significant, and/or controversial). Through ongoing research, we pinpoint the best speakers and most significant topics to be covered at upcoming meetings. Selected programs are recorded on the spot and then expertly edited by Audio-Digest's Editorial and Engineering Staff to provide you with a concise, cohesive, and uninterrupted audio presentation.

Q
Is the information you provide always current?

A
A recently published study disclosed the fate of hundreds of papers presented at two large medical meetings. Fewer than 60% of the papers were published in regular medical journals within the next two years. Through Audio-Digest, you often hear recorded digests of meetings within weeks of the meeting. Frequently, you learn of such information only through Audio-Digest.

Q
How do you edit the presentations without sacrificing the content?

A
We combine presentations by topic to give you in-depth coverage on a single audio program. We shorten these presentations only to separate the wheat from the chaff. You would be surprised how much time is saved by editing the “ers,” “ahs,” pauses, and unrelated trivia. You thus hear only the essential information you need to know, in less time than if you had attended the meeting itself.

Q
Does Audio-Digest make sure the CME/CE sponsor of the original meeting is acknowledged on the final enduring materials?

A
Audio-Digest produces audio enduring materials derived from lectures recorded at CME/CE activities sponsored by many different accredited providers. Audio-Digest fully acknowledges the meeting sponsor as the source of any lectures that may be selected for publication in our audio journals.

Q
How does Audio-Digest address intellectual copyright?

A
The meeting sponsor retains intellectual copyright on all materials presented at the source meeting. The individual lecturer retains intellectual copyright on his or her lecture material. Before planning an Audio-Digest program, we always obtain permission from the meeting sponsor and the individual lecturers.
